Adobe has a KB article on this:
The solution is to do the following:
- Go to Edit
- Preferences
- Reading
- Under Screen Reader Options select Only read the currently visible pages
The dialogue has to do with accessibility.

Edit->Preferences->Accessibility->Other Accessibility Option
Uncheck Enable assistive technology support if you are not actually using any.
This further fixes the problem above by eliminating extra processing which causes scroll delays etc…
This feature was enabled when I installed a signature pad/pen to sign documents.

That is great!!! could not figure out what have change in my Acrobat.
And this answer made it clear – I have connected a graphic board for sketching, and since then Acrobat started to make this annoying check.
Could not find how to disable it, till now!

FYI Preferences arent under “edit” theyre under the “acroboat” tab
